Will You Be Able To Cope With My Loved One's Dementia?

Westpark House is not a specialist dementia unit for individuals exhibiting disruptive or aggressive behavior. If this describes your loved one, we recommend seeking specialist medical placement.

However, for most people living with dementia, Westpark House is an excellent choice. We are a dedicated nursing home with significant expertise in supporting residents whose care needs have progressed. Our team is trained to provide endlessly patient and understanding support for those who can no longer cope effectively at home or in a standard residential setting.

If you are unsure whether Westpark House is the right environment to accommodate your loved one’s needs, please feel free to call the Home Manager, Jan Ritchie, on 01592 741849 for a confidential chat.

How Do I Know They Will Be Well Looked After?

We believe the best way to understand the quality of care at Westpark House is to hear from the families who experience it every day. With our "Very Good" Care Inspectorate ratings and a long-standing reputation in the Glenrothes area, we pride ourselves on transparency and excellence. Here is what some of our grateful families have to say about their loved one's experience with us.

My father is a resident in this wonderful home and all his days are happy and fulfilled. He is 97 years old. The dignity and attention to his individual needs and wishes (and that of the family) are always paramount in the care shown. He is kept well by excellent health/infection management. He is kept happy by love, activities and excellent food. It is truly his home in all senses.

What Will Their Room Be Like?

It’s essential for individuals living with dementia to have familiar surroundings to help them feel secure and relaxed.

We warmly encourage you to bring your loved one's own ornaments, treasured mementos, and small furniture items to personalize their space. At Westpark House, we believe a room should be a reflection of the person living in it, and we are happy to assist in making their new environment feel exactly like home.

Our rooms are situated within a stunning, traditionally built mansion-house, offering a light and airy atmosphere that promotes a sense of tranquility. Residents enjoy beautiful, calming views of our private, landscaped gardens and the scenic Fife countryside—a perfect backdrop for a peaceful daily life.

Who Will Be Looking After Them?

We believe we have the best staff team in the region!

Conveying the depth of care and expertise provided at a nursing home is difficult. After all, everyone says they have brilliant care. We truly believe you'll find the care your loved one experiences at Westpark House is the very best available. Here are a few things we hope will demonstrate that:

  • Low Staff Turnover: Unlike many care homes in the area, our staff turnover is very low. This is particularly important for residents living with dementia. Seeing a familiar and trusted face every day reduces anxiety and confusion, ensuring your loved one feels comfortable and relaxed.
  • High Staff-to-Resident Ratio: Our staffing levels are significantly higher than the legal requirement. This ensures your loved one receives the personalized attention they need. Our team is stable, with many members having been at Westpark House for many years, allowing them to truly understand each resident's unique needs.
  • Digital Care Transparency: We utilize Person Centred Software (PCS), which includes a "Relative’s Gateway." This allows authorized family members to see real-time updates on their loved one's care and wellbeing, providing total peace of mind.
  • Proven Track Record: We encourage you to read the feedback from those who know us best—our residents' friends and families. You can find several comments on our testimonials page and our high-scoring profile on www.carehome.co.uk.
  • A Positive Transformation: Families are frequently amazed by the positive change they see in their loved ones after moving to Westpark House, both physically and mentally.

In fact, the most common comment we receive from families is: "I wish I’d done it much sooner!"

But don’t just take our word for it. We have an open-door policy and you’re more than welcome to chat with existing residents and their families for a first-hand account of the exceptionally high-quality care at Westpark House.
